Description | The Town of Mansfield DPW currently operates four duplex submersible pump stations. They are located on South Eagleville Road, Charles Smith Way adjacent to the Storrs Post Office, Storrs Road, and in the Rolling Hills Active Adult Community on Valley View Drive. As such, the Town is interested in engaging the services of a sewer pump station operation and maintenance firm to operate and maintain (O&M) these four pump stations on behalf of the Town. Bid Security in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurer's or cashier's check payable to the Owner, issued by a responsible bank or trust company, may be required in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid. In the event that the successful bidder refuses, fails, or is otherwise unable to enter into a contract for the work with the Owner or is otherwise in default of its bid, the amount of such bid deposit shall be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages on account of such default. The selected contractor shall furnish a performance bond and payment bond in the amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, if required. Attorneys-in-fact who sign contract bonds must file, with each bond, a certified and effectively dated copy of their power of attorney. Certificates of Insurance may be required and must be furnished by the Contractor prior to any work being performed. The Town of Mansfield reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids; to waive any informality; or to accept any bid deemed in the best interests of the Town of Mansfield. No interpretations as to the meaning of the plans, specifications, or other Contract Documents shall be made to any bidder orally The Contract shall remain in effect from the date of contract signing through December 31, 2023. The contract will include a base year and two (2) optional one (1) year terms for a potential contract period of three (3) years. Proposed pricing for an extension of the contract for a second and third year shall not exceed 3% per year and must be mutually agreed upon with both parties. |
