Maple Lane Storm and Sanitary Sewer and Watermain Improvement Project

Qualified Engineering Consultant (Consultant) for engineering services associated with the Maple Lane Storm and Sanitary Sewer and Watermain Improvement Project (Project Number MS-21-0027). This project was first identified as Project 34 as listed in the 1996 Stormwater Management Master Plan. The project was also included in the Stormwater Capital Improvement Plan and budgeted for construction in 2023. City staff have recently verified a sanitary sewer capacity issue in the area causing multiple frequent sanitary sewer backups near 19th Street and Clare Road during large wet weather events. Due to the sanitary sewer capacity issue, the City of Lawrence is moving forward with design phase, expanding the project scope with a corridor concept to include sanitary, and potentially accelerating the project construction schedule to 2022.
