Description

As of November 1, 2022, information regarding an award for this solicitation is not available. At this time, it is not known if an award has been made. A timeline for construction has not been determined. Closed solicitation has been included below for reference. .............. UCLA requests a written response to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to select an Executive Architect for a proposed 200 Medical Plaza Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic Renovation (UCLA Project 907511). UCLA Health proposes to select an architect to plan a renovation of approximately 22,000 SF split between the first and second floor of the Peter Morton Medical Building (200 Medical Plaza) to accommodate the new Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic. The renovated suites will provide a new facility to accommodate the treatment of bone marrow transplant and oncology patients in an outpatient setting that will include exam rooms, infusion bays, and isolation rooms. Responses to this RFQ should demonstrate familiarity and experience in the design, planning, and construction of medical office suites and infusion centers, including Department of Public Health requirements (Title 22) and Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development requirements for an OSHPD 3 Clinic. Experience must be demonstrated for the specific personnel proposed for assignment to this project. A mechanical system analysis of the existing building infrastructure will be required as part of the pre-design phase to ensure that planned design loads can be accommodated. The construction cost for the project has not yet been determined and may be dependent upon proposed project phasing. The work may be executed in multiple phases over time. The project is subject to review and approval by the UC Board of Regents or their delegated authority. This RFQ is for complete design services comprising basic architectural services, including schematic design, design development, interiors package, construction documents, cost estimate, assistance during bid/award phase, construction administration, record documents, and project closeout for the Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic. However, the University reserves the right to defer negotiations concerning services other than pre-design studies until the completion of the pre-design phase. The design shall comply with the University of California Policy on Sustainable Practices to achieve a minimum LEED Healthcare Silver Rating. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Candidate Firm may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. It is anticipated the project may be in the range of $8 to $9 million, depending on the agreed-upon scope of work. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
