County Recreation Center - CPD03 - Orange County

The existing Central Rec Center is now 65 years old and is nearing the end of its facility life. A new center with additional gym and activity room space is needed to meet the community need for programs and indoor athletics. Due to the growth and demand for County recreation and athletics programs, new indoor recreation facility space is needed. This project identifies a new gymnasium and indoor athletics and recreation center proposed for design in FY 2028-29 and construction in FY 2029-30. As of May 9, 2023, this project is included in Orange County's FY 2023-33 Capital Improvement Plan and funding is allotted for construction in FY 2029-30. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
