SH 103 Culvert Replacement

SH 103 Culvert Replacement project is to replace an existing culvert that has failed and is not functional. It replaces the culvert in the existing configuration and alignment which has an inlet at the intersection of South Spring Gulch Road and SH 103 and extends east to outfall into Chicago Creek (SH 103 MP 0.6). The scope of the project is to replace the existing metal culvert pipe that is located under SH 103 and through the adjacent property, 637 Hwy 103, with a reinforced concrete pipe (RCP). CDOT is currently acquiring a permanent easement for the section of the culvert outside of the ROW but CDOT has formal permission from the property owner to complete this work. The scope also includes a catch basin and flared end section at the inlet, and a manhole located on the east shoulder of SH 103 to facilitate cleaning. Minor grading is also proposed at the inlet.
