Description

Qualified contractors are invited to bid on the Tuck-pointing of two elevations of a historic building. The CDOT KOA complex at 18500 East Colfax Ave. has an art deco building that was built in 1934 and is a designated City of Aurora Historical Landmark. The north facing and east facing elevations (approximately 3,000 sqft) have been damaged by time and the elements and need tuck-pointing of the mortar joints to remove the damaged mortar and replace it with new mortar. The tuck-pointing work shall be completed in accordance with the Historic Preservation Guidelines set by the City of Aurora and the Secretary of the Interior Standards (Technical Brief 2 – Repointing Mortar Joints in Historic Masonry Buildings) for the treatment of historic properties.
