A firm construction timeline has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The purpose of this project is to construct a new School of Business facility on the campus of Northern State University. In addition to housing the School of Business, the intent is for the facility to include space for the NSU Office of Admissions, the Office of International Programs, the SDSU Accelerated Nursing Program, incubator space, and office space for Development and Alumni. The project will include the demolition of the existing three-story Lincoln Hall and the adjacent three-story Briscoe Hall which is a residence hall. The building must be thoughtfully designed to include flexible classroom space that facilitates a variety of instructional delivery methods and can also be used to host conferences. In addition, the facility should include a welcoming reception area for guests and potential students, office space for faculty and staff with outside windows, student spaces for studying, and collaboration spaces that will promote interaction between the Northern community and businesses throughout Aberdeen and the region. The building must also address the unique space needs of the SDSU Accelerated Nursing Program including classrooms, simulation labs, student lockers and offices for faculty and staff. Support spaces such as staff meeting rooms, work rooms and storage will also be needed. The construction budget for the project is $29.5 million, but be advised that this number is subject to change. The project will be submitted for approval by the South Dakota Legislature during the 2022 session. If approved by the legislature, final design, bidding and construction would immediately follow. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
