Description | For exterior renovations and a 2-stall apparatus bay addition to the existing 1-story East Greenwich Fire Station #2. SCOPE OF WORK The work under their Contract shall consist of the items contained in the BID, including, all incidentals necessary to fully complete said work in accordance with the Contract Documents Bid Package created by the Town of East Greenwich and its consultants. The project consists of exterior renovations and a 2-stall apparatus bay addition to the existing 1-story East Greenwich Fire Station #2. The work includes but is not limited to site improvements, selective demolition, entry canopy replacement, concrete and foundation work, pre-engineered metal building design/engineering, purchase and installation, masonry work, painting, doors, frames & hardware, mechanical, plumbing & electrical system extensions into the addition. This building will remain fully occupied and in operation throughout the duration of this project. Refer to included drawings and specitications. The Town of East Greenwich acting through its Town Manager reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or any part thereof, to waive defects in the same or to accept any Bid deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of East Greenwich. BID SECURITY: Bid Security shall equal five 5% percent of the total project. Each bid must be accompanied by certified check of the bidder, or a bid bond prepared on an A.I.A. form for a bid bond provided by the bidder, duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as Surety thereon a surety company approved by the owner in the amount of five (5 %) percent of the Bid. Such check or bid bond will be returned to all except the three lowest bidders within five days after the opening of bids, and the remaining checks or bid bonds will be returned promptly after the owner and the accepted bidder have executed the Contract; or if no award has been made within 90 days after the date of the opening of bids, upon demand of the bidder' at any time thereafter, so long as he has not been notified of the acceptance of his bid. The applicable requirements pertaining to the bid bond shall also apply to the certified check. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES FOR FAILURE TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT: The successful bidder, upon his failure or refusal to execute and deliver the contract and Bonds required within 10 days after he has received notice of the acceptance of his bid, shall forfeit to the owner as liquidated damages for such failure or refusal the security deposited with his bid. |
