Amawalk Water Treatment Plant-Clarifier 1 and 2 Mechanical Work and Painting Project

This is a Two (2) part project which requires mechanical work (parts replacement) and epoxy coating for both Graver Clarifiers located at the Northern Westchester Joint Water Works (NWJWW) Amawalk Water Treatment Facility. Mechanical work to include but not be limited to bearing replacement, Drive replacement, floc barrier replacement, etc. (complete list of parts to replace attached). Parts to be procured by NWJWW from Graver directly, with parts being received by the contractor on site. Prior to mechanical work, the clarifiers must first have surface prepared for Epoxy coating of all metal components in Clarifier No. 1 &2 (weir troughs, draft tube, detention head, metal support arms, etc.). Work includes but is not limited to setting up scaffolding for SSPC-SP10 surface preparation below water line and SSPC-SP6 above the water line, and painting the metal components with an NSF approved epoxy. Clarifier # 2 work to commence. a. NWJWW to dewater clarifier. Remaining residuals to be disposed of by contractor (approximately 3’) b. Mechanical work to be completed c. Surface preparation for epoxy coating d. Epoxy coating completed e. Clarifier filled for VOC analysis f. Upon DOH approval for VOC analysis, clarifier to be drained by NWJWW. g. Floc Barriers to be installed. h. Clarifier # 2 returned to operation i. Work completed for 2021 Clarifier # 1 epoxy coating work to be completed in May 2022 if time does not permit for 2021 completion. a. Surface preparation completed b. Epoxy coating completed c. Clarifier filled for VOC analysis d. Upon DOH approval for VOC analysis, clarifier to be drained by NWJWW. e. Floc Barriers to be installed f. Clarifier # 1 returned to service
