Description | The Douglasville - Douglas County Water and Sewer Authority (hereafter referred to as the "Authority") is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for the performance of the Cool Water Drive Stormwater Improvement Project (the "Project"), as more fully described in the Invitation for Bids. The scope of work includes the provision by the Contractor of all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies necessary to complete the work. The Project will be "turn key" and require minimal involvement of Authority personnel. The work to be performed shall include, but is not limited to, the removal of approximately 189 linear feet (LF) of 42" corrugated metal pipe (CMP), two headwalls, two catch basins, one pedestal inlet top, curb and gutter, approximately 33 linear feet (LF) of watermain, asphalt pavement, one driveway section, existing trees, vegetation and removal of a portion of an existing gravel drive with border. The Project includes installation of 189 LF of 60" reinforced concrete pipe (RCP), two double wing catch basins (GDOT STD. 1034D), two headwalls (GDOT STD. 1125), one pedestal inlet top, 453 LF of CIPP Lined 18" CMP, 33 LF of 8" ductile iron pipe (DIP), two 8" gate valves, dead man concrete blocking, concrete driveway, asphalt pavement, concrete trench cap, concrete curb and gutter, erosion control measures and replacement of a portion of a gravel drive with border. Protection of an existing power pole and coordination with the power provider to relocate an existing power pole is included in the scope of work for the Project. The Project site is located within Douglas County. Plans for Cool Water Drive Stormwater Improvement Project have been prepared by Rindt-McDuff Associates, Inc., Jason Cousineau, PE, dated 6/1/2022. Special Conditions and Appendices contain more detailed information on the Project scope. Award may be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder; however, the Authority reserves the right to reject all bids or any bid that is nonresponsive or submitted by a nonresponsible bidder. The Authority further reserves the right to waive technicalities and informalities in the Invitation for Bids and bids submitted. All bids must be accompanied by adequate bid security (certified check, bid bond, or irrevocable letter of credit) drawn in favor of the Authority and in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, which shall be subject to forfeiture as liquidated damages in the event that the bid be accepted and the bidder fail to promptly enter into the proposed contract for performance of the Project with the Authority. All prospective bidders must hold a current Georgia Utility Contractors License and be on, or promptly qualify for inclusion on, the Authority's Approved Contractor List, without restriction or probationary status. All work will be performed within Authority easements and/or inside public right of way. All anticipated rights of way and easements required for the Project have been obtained. All anticipated federal, state, and local permits required for the Project have been obtained. |
