Empire State Trail: Wallkill Valley Rail Trail to Northern Dutchess County Line

This project will construct segments of the Empire State Trail (EST) along various roadways in the City of Kingston, and from the Kingston Point to Route 32 in the Town of Ulster, Ulster County. Segments will also be constructed along River Road in the Towns of Redhook and Rhinebeck, and on Woods Road in the Village of Tivoli, Dutchess County. The work for these segments of the EST will vary and consist of following, but not limited to, installation of wayfinding signs, pavement markings, reconstruction and widening of shoulder pavement, rumble strips, speed tables and other traffic calming measures. The treatments for the bicyclists path will also vary depending on the segment and will consist of shared roadways, two-way separated bike lanes, and the use of existing wide shoulders.
