Description

**As of  February 20, 2023 this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline or award has not yet been established.**  Complete demolition of buildings that were damaged by a tornado. The contractor will provide all labor including supervision and inspection services, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, permits, bonds and any additional services necessary for completion of these said demolitions and the restoration of the site to natural grade. The contractor will support the University's goal to maximum the amount of demolished material for recycling. Remaining Demolition Needs 1. Remove foundations a. From 16 buildings with total ~93,000 square feet 2. Crush concrete foundations a. Store on site for future use on roadways 3. Remove remaining portion of 7858 a. ~3,200 square feet b. Pending final determination of fate of exhaust stacks/fans 4. Pick up all the remaining debris piles all around the station / fields a. Debris from field cleanup b. Debris from removal of damaged fences c. Debris from vegetation in pastures/hay fields 5. Finish Debris removal along drainage ditch 6. Possibly Demo a. 7821 (Horse Barn) b. Concrete silos (7848 and 7874) 7. Remove underground fuel tanks and aboveground pumps Located on the UK Research and Education Center in Princeton. KY. The address is 1205 Hopkinsville Street, Princeton, KY 42445. Bids will be received from Prime Contractors on a Lump Sum Amount for the total project. All phases of the work shall be bid to and through the Prime Contractors. Bids shall be submitted in the manner herein described and on the official proposal form included with the conditions and specifications and shall be subject to all the conditions as set forth and described in the Bid Documents. Bids shall be submitted only on the Official Forms supplied by the University of Kentucky, Construction Procurement Section. Failure to comply with the foregoing requirements will be cause for invalidation of bid. Final award of Contract will be made on the basis of the lowest, responsive and responsible bid which offers the best value. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instruction to Bidders, General Conditions and Special Conditions. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids. Clerical errors and omissions in the computation of the lump sum shall not be cause for withdrawal of the bid without forfeiture of bid bond. Bids may be withdrawn in person only, prior to the closing date for receipt of bids. The University of Kentucky, Construction Procurement Section, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all formalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the University may be served.
