Description | The major work components shall consist of improvements to the Doane's Wharf Pumping Station, including the following: Demolition of the specified existing Doane's Wharf Pumping Station and components. Replacement of the existing Doane's Wharf Pumping Station with a new building, back-up generator (provided by KSD, installed by contractor), electrical connections, above ground pump controls, relocated submersible pumps with new hardware, wet well, wet well cover, and other appurtenances as shown on the plans and described in the Project Manual. Install necessary by-pass pumping to maintain sew er and pumping operations throughout work. Relocation of the existing submersible pumps. Install approximately 250LF of 15" SDR35 PVC, 200LF of 10" SDR35 PVC and 250LF of 6" PVC Force Main. Replace existing sewer manholes, accommodate for existing sewer inverts and sizes and new gravity sewer connections as shown on the drawings. Install new sewer manholes as shown on the drawings. Complete restoration of all properties both public and private. The Work shall be substantially complete within 365 days after the Notice to Proceed and ready for final payment within 396 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run. Excavation shall not be allowed between May 31, 2023- September 4, 2023. Liquidated damages shall be assessed at $500 per day. Contractors must have at least 5 years of successful experience in the field of general contracting. Bidders must determine the quantities of work required and the conditions under which the work will be performed. Addenda to this bid document, if any, including written answers to questions, will be provided to the bidders via email. The Kennebunk Sewer District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive technical or legal deficiencies, to re-bid, and to accept any bid that it may deem to be in the best interest of the District. |
