Description

The Fire Department is requesting the replacement of the existing HVAC mechanical system at Fire Station 1. Each year, the system requires multiple visits by our Facilities Department as well as by the on call mechanical contractor due to facilities repair requests entered by our staff. Problems we encounter with the system include extremely humid conditions in the summer as well as extremely cold conditions in the winter, many damaged ceiling tile due to either overflowing condensation pans or plugged condensation drains and very inconsistent temperatures throughout the building. These conditions do not provide for a comfortable living environment for our staff who occupy the building 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and tend to distract our employees on too frequent of a basis. Construction is planned to begin in 2025. This project is in included in the City of Rochester Hills FY 2023 - 2028 CIP. As of January 13, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
