Description

The base bid. Work includes the repair of seven (7) damaged 24-inch octagonal concrete piles and repair of two (2) 20-inch diameter steel pipe piles by means of pile encapsulation (structural jacketing) at the Ports Pier 3. Additive bid schedules may be awarded for up to 31 steel pile - durability wraps. Specific elements ofthe Work include, but are not limited to, cleaning existing marine growth from the surface of the piles, removing loose pieces of concrete, placing reinforcing bars and stay-in-place fiberglass forms around the piles, and placing grout inside the forms to construct a new pile jacket. Concrete piles will be jacketed and grouted, and steel piles will be wrapped with tape and jacketed with HDPE. One steel pile will require a welded steel patch. ESTIMATED COST: $475,000 - $550,000 (Incl. WSST, Schedule A) The project site is located within a restricted area; Bidders attending a pre-bid meeting are required to bring government issued photo identification, TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) cards are preferable.
