Description

As of September 29, 2022, an design firm has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been disclosed. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: PROJECT DESCRIPTION/SERVICES REQUESTED This project will replace the existing boilers in the Power Plant Building. The scope should include an assessment of the existing steam load to appropriately size the new boilers. The existing boilers date from the 1990s and were sized for the chillers, so are likely over-sized. There is currently no chart data for the facility. The assessment should include a condensate study in addition to the load calculation study. The Power Plant Building is located outside the secure perimeter of WHVCF. Please include the following in your proposal: o Design Review Meetings to be held at 50% and 90% reviews for Phase 400 and Phase 500 and as the PSC deems necessary. Microsoft TEAMS meetings are acceptable. The PSC shall be responsible for running construction progress meetings twice a month for the duration of the project, including a Pre-Construction meeting. o Please provide a probable cost estimate for the anticipated work o Work to include evaluation of existing data and condensate. o Two weeks review time is anticipated for each submission. o No multiple substantial completions are anticipated at this time. Please notify the Office of Design and Construction if you are having SIGMA VSS issues. Include your SIGMA ticket number in an email to our contract specialists, Anne Watros (WatrosA@michigan.gov) and Don Klein (KleinD4@michigan.gov ). You may be asked to email your proposal. Emailed submissions will require DCD approval and will be handled on a case-bycase basis. Approved emailed submissions MUST be received prior to 2:00 p.m. deadline to be considered responsive and responsible. NIGP CODES 90628; 90644; 91016; 92507; 92533; 92534 92567; 92578 and 92595 DESIRED SCHEDULE OF WORK Phase 400 and 500 should be completed no later than the end of May 2022 with the anticipated overall project completion (Phases 600 and 700) mid-autumn or before heating season. The professional shall submit a proposed work plan / schedule developed to achieve the desired completion as part of the proposal.
