Description

The Division of Facilities Development, hereinafter termed DFD, hereby announces that it is advertising for bids from certified contractors for the above project. The bidder is responsible for the sealed bid being delivered to the indicated location or email before the time specified for the bid submission. Third party delivery is entirely at the bidders risk. In general the work consists of: removing the stadium bleachers, press box, 2 locker rooms and related foundations. Materials will be recycled and disposed of according to DFD guidelines. Power and water will be properly terminated. The site will be backfilled and graded to match the adjacent grade. The bleachers were constructed in 1955 and are no longer to code, and the metal structure, decking and seating have all substantially deteriorated over time. In addition, a recent fire has caused substantial damage to a section of structural supports for the bleachers rendering them unusable and substantially impairing this asset. From a risk management perspective, the bleachers are a severe liability, and the entire area can no longer be used. The block constructed locker rooms below the bleachers have heaved and shifted, rendering them unusable. The 2017-2019 Wisconsin State Budget (2017 Wisconsin Act 59) repealed Wisconsins prevailing wage laws. Effective September 23, 2017, state prevailing wage requirements on state building projects no longer apply. These changes take effect for projects advertised for bid after September 23, 2017. This change does not affect the Federal Davis Bacon Act requirements. This project involves the removal the stadium bleachers, press box, 2 locker rooms and related foundations. Materials will be recycled and disposed of according to DFD guidelines. Power and water will be properly terminated. The site will be backfilled and graded to match the adjacent grade.
