Switzer Greenpond Road Improvements - Spartanburg County

Council Strategic Framework: Accelerate the improvement of County roads This project will provide funding for the improvements on Switzer Greenpond Road which is located in the western portion of the county. Switzer Greenpond Road connects Greenpond Road to Old Spartanburg Highway. The road is approximately 4.4 miles in length and 18 feet wide and has a current OCI of 55.1. This is a highly traveled corridor which is in need of improvements to enhance safety. Switzer Greenpond Road currently meets Greenpond Road at an acute angle; this project will adjust that to a 90-degree angle. Additionally, Drummond Road will be widened and aligned so that it meets Switzer Greenpond Road at a 90-degree angle. The project will be initially funded from General Fund Capital Reserve. This project directly supports Council's strategic vision by being a core component of the County's infrastructure plan. The project also improves services provided to citizens by upgrading a roadway in a highly traveled corridor of the Count This project is in included in the Spartanburg County FY 2023-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of august 24, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
