Description | The project consists of the removal and disposal of asbestos containing material from the Carriage House and Essex House rental units. Digital Copies are available in PDF format for file upload or on Compact Disk at a 50% discount of the paper copies cost. A $10.00 ($5.00 Digital Copies) fee for postage and handling will be required for Contract Documents that are mailed to bidders. All checks shall be made payable to Stiffler Mc Graw. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the County of Indiana, or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety (appearing on the Treasury Department's most current Circular 570 list and authorized to transact business in the State of Pennsylvania), in an amount equal to 10 percent (10%) of the total of the Bid shall be submitted with each bid to guarantee the Bidder's entrance into a contract if given the award. No bid bond shall be waived or returned because the Bidder has failed to or cannot comply with any requirements set forth in the plans, specifications, or any applicable statutes of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or any applicable municipal ordinances. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty (60) calendar days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds on the forms provided, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price and executed by an acceptable surety company. The work on this project will be performed under the provisions of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Labor & Industry, Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act as set forth in the Contract Documents. Project Financial Assistance provided by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Honorable Josh Shapiro, Governor. The Indiana County Commissioners reserve the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. AWARD CRITERIA AND BASIS FOR REJECTION will be in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders of the contract and technical documents Each Bidder should visit the site of the proposed work and fully acquaint himselfwith the existing conditions there relating to construction and labor, and should fully inform himself as to the facilities involved, the difficulties and restrictions attending the performance of the Contract. The Bidder should thoroughly examine and familiarize himself with the Drawings, Technical Specification, and all other Contract Documents. The Contractor by the execution ofthe Contract shall in no way be relieved ofany obligation underitdue to his failureto receive or examine any form or legal instrument or to visit the site and acquaint himselfwith the conditions there existing and the Local Public Agency will be justified in rejecting any claim based on facts regarding which he should have been on notice as a result thereof. |
