| Description | Installation of approximately 1,745 linear feet (LF) of 36-inch ductile iron pipe gravity sewer line and appurtenances in areas generally located near the J.G. Beacham WTP. The planned trenchless construction activities form an alignment composed of six primary segments of sanitary sewer. North Segment: The first leg of the alignment begins at an existing manhole at the end of Maxey Boulevard north of the Loop and runs southeast, onto Parcel 114-024A (Martin Mechanical commercial property). This segment is approximately 160 feet in length. Perimeter Crossing: The second segment starts from Parcel 114-024A and crosses the Athens Perimeter Loop and ends in the PUD material storage yard, north of Alexander Street. It is approximately 470 feet in length. Connector: The third segment begins in the PUD equipment parking lot and runs southeast under Alexander Street, the Water and Sewer parking lot, Water Works Drive, and a grassy field east of Water Works Drive. This segment is approximately 730 feet in length. Railroad Sewer Crossing: The fourth segment crosses the Great Walton Railroad track approximately 50 feet north of the existing concrete box culvert. This segment is approximately 120 feet in length. North Oconee River Crossing: The planned alignment runs parallel to the railroad, across the stream, and crosses the North Oconee River approximately 10 linear feet downstream of the existing aerial river crossing. It connects to the existing sewer on the east bank of the river. This segment is approximately 265 feet. Railroad Stormwater Crossing: A second crossing of the Great Walton Railroad is also planned approximately 300 feet north of the Segment 4 (Railroad Sewer Crossing) crossing. This second railroad crossing (Railroad Stormwater Crossing) will install a storm drain pipe that discharges to the east of the railroad, as part of a drainage improvement plan for the existing Meter Management parking lot and Alexander Street. | ||||
