Commercial Office Carpet Replacement Program

The County of Monroe is accepting proposals for the installation of new commercial carpet tiles/squares and roll commercial carpet in various office locations in the County's buildings and offices. The proposals will be based on unit pricing and the County will select areas to be carpeted over the next two years. We invite you to submit a proposal to supply carpet, vinyl cover base, adhesive, installation materials, all equipment needed and the labor to perform the work required for this project. This labor also shall include costs to move furniture out of the way to allow for carpet removal and installation of new carpet material. The work to be performed must be closely coordinated with County staff as the work will require moving furniture systems and other office equipment and furnishings to allow old carpet be removed and new tiles installed. The standard installation will provided for offices and work areas to receive new carpet tiles and hallways and select meeting rooms to have roll carpet where minimal furniture, seating or other items would need to be moved. The work shall be performed outside of normal County operating hours except where arrangements are made to perform the work where offices and County operations are not taking place. The County is requesting a unit price to include the cost per square yard for all materials including carpet tiles, roll carpet, vinyl cove wall base (2" and 4"), adhesive, freight and delivery, and labor. The labor must be inclusive of moving furniture and/or furniture systems, removal and disposal of existing carpet and base. Our carpet replacement program forecasts carpet replacement at 4 different facilities each of the next two years with several different locations within the facilities. The carpet will be replaced over both concrete subfloor and wood subfloor. We estimate approximately 25,000 square feet of carpet each year for replacement. We have selected EF Contract Flooring as the carpet specified and as a standard product to bid; contractors may bid this product or a product of equal to or higher quality. The carpet tiles should be of a commercial grade for high traffic areas. The product is 24" x 24" size, Freestyle style, patterned scroll construction, 15 ounce weight with 8.852 density. The County will select a specific carpet to be installed.
