JJC City Center Infrastructure Improvements

The proposed project is located along the northside of the existing College building and will improve the existing parking lot by reconstructing the existing asphalt and aggregate portions. The area once formally the Webster Street ROW will be reconstructed into a concrete plaza and walkway for pedestrians. The Webster Street between Ottawa St and Chicago Street will be closed by extending the curb and gutter from north to south ultimately eliminating this access drive. The existing storm sewer system will be modified to accommodate site drainage. Parking lot lights and various landscape and restoration elements are included in this work. The first construction phase (1A), as shown on Sheet 18 (Construction Staging Plan), of this project shall be all necessary work as shown on plans and specifications to the areas within and adjacent to the north and west boundaries of 251 N. Chicago St (commonly known as Chicken-n-Spice). Anticipated work is, but not limited to pavement removal and replacement, curb removal, saw cuts, removal of masonry block trash enclosure, relocation of dumpster, vinyl fence construction, and steel bollards. This work shall be coordinated with the property owner and Engineer. Site movement of patrons, employees, and vehicles, including deliveries, shall be maintained at all times.
