Description

As of July 10, 2023, this project is in the final planning stage. The owner has selected a Construction Manager. A timeline for construction has not yet been established. Piedmont Community College (Owner) is soliciting statements of qualifications from qualified General Contractors interested in providing Construction Manager at Risk (CM@R) services develop our new agribusiness campus, the Center for Educational and Agricultural Development (CEAD). All interested CM@R parties are encouraged to respond to the requirements of this RFQ in appropriate format and required quantity Piedmont Community College will develop the CEAD campus on a developing a 79-acre site in Pelham, NC. Construction is scheduled to be conducted in three phases outlined below. The initial scope of the CM@R service will be for the Phase 1. The pre-construction agreement will entail Schematic Design for Phase 1, 2, and 3. DD and CD will be for Phase 1 only. It is our intent as funding becomes available future phases will be renegotiated under this contract. A copy of the approved Phased Masterplan with preliminary building layouts for the Food Hub, Incubator Farm Barn, Wash Stations and Education Building are attached to this document. It is anticipated that Design will be completed in June 2024, and that Phase One - CEAD will be ready for occupancy by April of 2025. We expect to have funding for phase 2 (Education Building) by January of 2024.
