Alfred M. Glickman Elementary School Exterior Door and Window Replacement - Sub

The City of Springfield, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from General Contractors for the Alfred M. Glickman Elementary School- Exterior Door and Window Replacement Project in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Project consists of: Replace all existing fixed / operable window units, as well as directly adjacent ACM-containing stone panels units with new aluminum thermally broken window assemblies. Operable units shall be in-swing hopper. New interior trim will be provided as required. Provide exterior placed metal screens at all operable window locations. Provide pre-finished steel (side hinge operable) rock guards at all windows. Additionally, all windows in occupiable areas shall be provided with roller window shades. Replace all single leaf entry doors/frames with new fiberglass reinforced plastic doors (with aluminum skin facing) / pressed steel thermally-broken frame assemblies. Insulated glass vision lites will be provided at all door locations other than at mechanical and storage areas. Replace all paired entry doors/frames at building entrance locations with new fiberglass reinforced plastic doors (with aluminum skin facing) / pressed steel thermally-broken frame assemblies. Insulated glass vision lites will be provided at all door locations other than at mechanical and storage areas. Additionally, as appropriate, all new frames will be provided with insulated glass vision lites (to match existing lites). Provide new door hardware at all exterior door locations. Re-connect the existing access control system as relevant door locations. Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 ;44A-J; to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.l49 26 to 27H inclusive. General bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in the following category of work ash; General Building Construction and must submit a current DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and signed DCAMM Prime Update Statement (Form CQ 3). Sub-bid RFIs will be received until 1/20/2023 at 4:00pm. Filed sub-bidders must be DCAMM certified for the trades listed below and bidders must include a current DCAMM Sub-Bidder Certificate of Eligibility and a signed DCAMM Sub-Bidders Update Statement. SUBTRADES Section 085113 Aluminum Windows General bids and sub-bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates), and made payable to the City of Springfield. The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so. Otherwise, the deposit shall be the property of the Awarding Authority. Additional sets may be purchased for $300. Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $40.00 per set for UPS Ground (or $65.00 per set for UPS overnight), payableto cover mail handling costs.
