Maintenance Dredge, BUDM and Breakwater Project

The maintenance dredge work includes mechanically or hydraulically dredging approximately 126,500 cubic yards of dredge material from 19 discrete areas within the Tiki Island Canal System to depths of -5.5 ft, NAVD88 within the canals and -7.5-ft, NAVD88 within the sediment basins. Dredge material shall be placed within the Beneficial Use Dredge Material (BUDM) Placement Area located in West Bay, approximately 0.5 miles southwest Tiki Island. The existing BUDM Placement Area shall be expanded including the construction or improvement of approximately 3,920 linear feet of containment levees. Following the completion of the dredge work, the BUDM Placement Area shall be restored including removal of all discharge weirs and earthwork to enhance tidal exchange and develop upland habitat. Additional work shall include stone armouring, geotextiles fabrics, turbidity curtains and silt fence as BMPs and installation of a 1,415 LF wooden pile supported sediment control structure/breakwater. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularity in bidding.
