Cedar City Air Tanker Base Water Pipe Repair

The Cedar City Tanker Base is an interagency fixed wing air tanker base for firefighting operations. A faulty valve has caused water to leak into a piping system that is normally winterized and has caused the freezing and breaking of pipes that are essential for operations. In general the project requires excavation in close proximity to utilities and buildings and may therefore require alternatives to typical excavation techniques. The work also involves excavation underneath a concrete pad. Work may need to be completed in freezing conditions due to time constraints. Work involves replacing 3 valves, approximately 40’ of 4” piping and appurtenances and abandoning an unused portion of pipe.
