Description | The seasonal scope of work per park includes the following. Spring Cleanup (generally March – April) The contractor will provide personnel and equipment to cleanup and remove the vegetative waste and debris leftover from the winter. This will include clearing all leaf, branch, tree and litter debris from all shrubs, tree stands, grass/lawn areas, playground, pathways, parking areas, etc. as well as light shrub pruning. The contractor will be required to remove the cleanup debris from the site. The contractor will be allowed to dispose of the leaves and debris at the Public Works yard at 219 North Fullerton Avenue without penalty. Spring cleanup activity must be coordinated with the Superintendent and a minimum of two days’ notice of activity must be provided. It is estimated that one cleanup will be required in the spring. Payment shall be based upon a lump sum cost per cleanup. Summer Maintenance (generally May – September) The contractor will provide personnel and equipment to cut all grass areas throughout the park. This will include cutting and trimming around all obstacles, including but not limited to - trees, shrubs, benches, fences, curbs, etc. Grass shall be mulched but shall not be left in clumps. After cutting and trimming all pathways, parking areas, etc shall be swept free of cuttings using brooms or blowers. Turf equipment shall perform accurate mowing with sharpened blades and large turf equipment must have turf tires to prevent damage to lawn areas. Township personnel will provide the specialized ball field maintenance. That includes “dressing” the clay infield and the lining of the fields. The contractor will be responsible for cutting the grass within these areas. All lawn areas shall be cut on average once per week throughout the growing season. The actual frequency shall be determined through discussion with the Superintendent of Public Works/Parks (Superintendent) or their designee. It is estimated that nineteen cuttings will be required per growing season. Payment shall be based upon a cost per cutting. Fall Cleanup (generally October – December) The contractor will provide personnel and equipment to cleanup and remove the vegetative waste which accumulates throughout the fall. This will include clearing all leaf, branch, tree and litter debris from all shrubs, tree stands, grass/lawn areas as well as pathways, parking areas, playground, field house, etc. This activity will be coordinated with the Superintendent. The contractor will be required to remove the leaves and debris from the site. The contractor will be allowed to dispose of the leaves and debris at the Public Works yard at 219 North Fullerton Avenue without penalty. Fall cleanup activity must be coordinated with the Superintendent and a minimum of two days notice of activity must be provided. It is estimated that three leaf cleanups will be required during the fall cleanup period. Each cleanup shall be completed in one day. Payment will be based upon a cost per cleanup. |
