Description

The TOWN OF DECATUR will receive competitive bids for acquiring the following equipment via term bid utilizing Community Development Block Grant Funds: o Bio-Walk Package System Contract time shall be 30 consecutive calendar days from the effective date shown in the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages will be assessed in the amount of the actual costs incurred for each consecutive calendar day beyond the specified contract time. Special Damages: In addition to the amounts provided for liquidated damages, expenses and other losses, Contractor, in the event of such default, shall pay to the Owner the actual costs, expenses and other losses reasonably incurred by Owner. All responses to this solicitation for said equipment shall be placed in a sealed envelope marked "2021 Sewer System Improvements" along with the date and time of said proposal opening, and received by Town of Decatur, located at 66 7th Avenue, Decatur, MS 39327. Proposals must be submitted sealed and deposited with the Town of Decatur, Mississippi prior to the hour and date hereinbefore designated. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 90 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Bidders shall also submit a current financial statement, if requested, by the Town of Decatur, Mississippi. The work to be performed under this contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended 12 U.S.C. 1701u (Section 3). CDBG regulations governing the grant require that, to the greatest extent feasible, opportunities for contracting, subcontracting, training and employment arising in connection with this CDBG project will be extended to Section 3 businesses and Section 3 residents. Minority and women's business enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities, equipment, material and/or supply needs. The Town of Decatur is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
