Description

Questions concerning the project should be addressed to Mr. Richard Nelson, Project Manager, of the Albemarle County Service Authority at the above address. Questions must be received by no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. The scope and quantity of work will be dependent on the need for work as determined by the Owner; all incidental work shall be included in the unit prices offered in this contract. The Contractor will be paid for the actual work completed. All quantities stipulated in the Bid Form are approximate and are to be used only for the purpose of comparing the bids submitted for the Work. The actual amounts of work performed under unit price items may differ from the estimated quantities. The basis of payment shall be the actual amount of work done with no minimum quantities guaranteed. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bids. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee in an amount equal to at least 5% (five percent) of the amount bid. At the option of the bidder, the guarantee may be certified check, bank draft, or bid guarantee. The bid guarantee shall ensure the execution of the contract as required by the specifications. The contract is to be awarded on the basis of the bidders qualifications and the total estimated cost on a unit price basis as stated in the bid. No partial sets of the Contract Documents will be issued. Electronic copies of the Contact Documents may be obtained at no charge upon receipt of plan holder contact information (name, address, phone number, fax, email). Bidders must be licensed contractors in Virginia in accordance with Title 54.1, Chapter 11, of the Code of Virginia. The bidder and its subcontractors must comply with the provisions of Executive Orders 11246, as amended, and 11375, which prohibit discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Bidders must certify that they do not, and will not, maintain or provide for their employees any facilities that are segregated on a basis of race, color, creed, or national origin. The Albemarle County Service Authority (ACSA) is seeking bids from qualified contractors to enter into an on-call contract to repair and/or replace existing sanitary sewers, manholes and service laterals. The Contract will primarily be used to repair sewer system defects that are allowing rainwater and groundwater to enter the sewer system via inflow and infiltration and/or used to repair structural defects that are causing maintenance issues. This contract may include repair of sewer system defects and installing new sewers and manholes and all preparatory work.
