Morgan Lake Dam - 20-21 - City of Poughkeepsie

This project calls for an evaluation and construction of the dam spillway. Consultant is evaluating the hydraulic capacity of the existing spillway and will produce conceptual plans to ultimately construct an auxiliary spillway. Spillway must be capable of passing the probable maximum flood capacity. PO 2018-275 for $12,100 was opened, and $10,600 expensed in 2018. Per NY State Dept of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) inadequate spillway capacity (identified in 2015 Engineering Assessment) is a serious deficiency and must be corrected. Alternate spillway designs were proposed in 2018 and need to be evaluated. Preferred alternate design and construction documents (Plans, Specs and Engineer's Estimate) need to be prepared. Design began in 2020 and will continue in 2022, with, if funding is acquired, construction commencing in 2023.. As January 23, 2023, this project is currently in the FY 2023 - 2027 CIP. Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction FY 2024. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2024. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
