Description

The USAG West Point requires a properly licensed and certified contractor to perform annual inspections to include Preventative Maintenance inspections and load testing on various lifting devices as listed below in paragraphs 11-15. The contractor is to supply all materials, equipment and personnel to perform various load tests on installed overhead lifting devices to include a gantry and necessary hardware to attach a lifting device to the gantry as required. Due to liability issues, contractors are not permitted to utilize any lifting devices (man lifts and like items) owned by or in use by the United States Army at West Point or Stewart IAP, 2nd Aviation Detachment for access to overhead cranes or hoists. All devices shall be inspected, serviced and tested In Accordance With (IAW) the manufactures specifications and the Code of Federal Regulations 29 Part 1910.179 and or the most current regulations governing such tests. If there is any question as to the proper test and or requirement, the contractor shall consult with the applicable DPW Contracting Officers Representative (COR) for clarification. All devices are located at the United States Army Garrison (USAG), West Point, NY 10996 and Stewart International Airport, Newburgh, NY. 12550.
