Description | Description: The scope includes restoration and rehabilitation of the Lower Plaza of Meridian Hill Park. The exposed aggregate concrete at this park is an important design element and much of this work centers on its replacement, repair, or replication. This includes, installation of an accessible route into the Lower Plaza of the park from 16th street, replacement of drainage lines for better drainage of the site and plaza, removal and replacement of 8 large trees, removal of sections of exposed aggregate paving, install root barriers and tree root/storm water under pavement infrastructure, and reset or replicate paving on top, repair exposed aggregate concrete, build and install a steel pleaching frame for the linden allee, repointing and sealing of joints on the Buchanan Memorial, update electrical and light fixtures at reflecting pool, mitigation of water penetration along the Great Wall stairs into rooms below, and replanting of trees and shrubs. |
