Description | As of April 13, 2023, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for the Lanier Filter Plant Chemical Addition and Sampling Improvements Project. This project involves the installation of new chemical trenches at Lanier Filter Plant. Within the chemical trench, sump pumps will be installed along with leak detection equipment. New chemical and sample piping will be installed in the trenches and pipe gallery. Existing buried chemical lines, vaults, and sampling lines will be demolished. Associated electrical equipment will be installed related to these sampling improvements Project. Bids are legal and binding upon the bidder when submitted All Bidders are required to submit a Bid Bond or a certified check made payable to the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount bid. The Bid Bond or certified check must be enclosed in the envelope with the sealed bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a contract Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the sum of 100% of the total amount bid and provide insurance coverage as required by the contract documents. Bonding Company should be licensed to do business in Georgia, licensed to do business by the Georgia Secretary of State, authorized to do business in Georgia by the Georgia Insurance Department, listed in the Department of the Treasury's Publication of Companies Holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Surety on Federal Bonds and as Acceptable Reinsuring Companies and must have an A.M. Best rating of A-V or higher. All bonds should be submitted on forms provided by Gwinnett County and agencies providing bonds and insurance should provide proof that they meet the criteria outlined in the bid and contract documents. Bid Withdrawal: No Bidder may withdraw his Bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Bidder agrees to complete the Contract awarded within the allowable calendar days for completion from the date of the Notice to Proceed and he further agrees that the Owner may retain from the monies which may become due the amount of $1,400.00 (Substantial) / $900.00 (Final) for each and every day that the completion of the work may be delayed. Consecutive calendar days for completion: 270 (substantial) / 300 (final) The County will award the Contract to the lowest qualified bidder, subject with the Owner's right to reject any or all bids, to waive technicalities, and to make an award deemed in its best interests. With limited response, Gwinnett County reserves the right to extend the solicitation opening date as appropriate in order to assure a competitive procurement process. Depending on the scope and complexity, individual projects may require pre-qualification, independent of the annual pre-qualification process. Contractor must be prequalified prior to advertisement to be able to submit a bid. |
