Description

1. Perform all removal/demolition work in those areas as specified by the drawings. 2. Field verify dimensions of existing Boiler system and equipment to assure fit in regards to transportation through existing spaces and installation on existing pad(s). In addition, verify compatibility with existing and new electrical wirings and connections. 3. Replace four (4) existing fire tube Boilers and associated piping and accessories for complete and functional new boiler system to match existing. 4. Replacement of four (4) existing hot water pumps and spring vibration isolation bases. 5. Inspect existing vertical/horizontal 12” and 18”-inch metal exhaust flue system through boiler room roof and provide detailed condition report of findings to FAA. Contractor shall include a price option in contract for complete replacement of the existing exhaust boiler exhaust flue system. 6. Replace existing hot water system “compressed air” style expansion tank with new precharged bladder type expansion tank. 7. Replace existing water softening station for hot water boiler make-up water system. 8. Integrate new hot water boiler system into the existing Direct Digital Control (DDC) system utilizing existing control points and sequence of operation. The contractor will be provided the DDC record shop drawings for reference purposes. Contractor shall provide all required converters, repeaters, integrators, etc. for complete communication and integration with new equipment as to provide a complete and functional controllable system. 9. Provide one (1) week, or combined 40 hours of HVAC training on new Boilers, Pumps, and Control System with facility personnel from Qualified Manufacturer’s Representative. Coordinate at least two (2) weeks in advance with FAA COR prior to training. 10. Reconnect all wiring and grounding. Requirements shall be per the latest National Electric Code and FAA Specification FAA-STD- 019F and FAA-C-1217G. 11. Replace effected Boiler hot water system piping and valves as required including associated thermal insulation that was disturbed or removed. New pipe and insulation to meet requirements outlined in specification sections. 12. Test and balance (TAB) system water flow according to provided reference drawings or to rated equipment capacity. Submit balance report to the FAA COR for review and approval. 13. Perform HVAC control system testing and balancing performance verification of system by qualified, third party control system (Testing and Balancing - TAB) professional. 14. Perform HVAC equipment initial startup by local manufacturer representatives qualified to conduct testing/performance verification of all installed systems. Coordinate all startups at least two (2) weeks in advance with FAA RE.
