Description | Part 1: Part Name: PA 18 Signal Upgrades Project Description: The project begins at the SR 844 (Jefferson Avenue)/ SR 0018 (Henderson Avenue) intersection (segment 0400/0000) and ends at the SR 0018/ Tyler Avenue intersection (Segment 0380/1670) in the City of Washington, Washington County.The scope of work for this project includes the installation of two new traffic signals at S.R. 0018 (Jefferson Avenue)/S.R. 8014 (I-70 eastbound exit/entrance ramps), and S.R. 4022 (Wylie Avenue)/S.R. 8014 (I-70 westbound entrance/exit ramps) and the replacement of the following three existing traffic signals: PA 18 (Jefferson Avenue) @ SR 4022 (Wylie Avenue, PA 18 (Jefferson Avenue) @ PA 844, and SR 4022 (Wylie Avenue) @ Allison Road. S.R. 18 will be reconstructed from S.R. 18/ Tyler Avenue intersection to the S.R. 18/ East Wylie Avenue intersection and includes a right turn lane for the I-70 eastbound entrance ramp. East Wylie Avenue will be reconstructed from the S.R. 18/East Wylie Avenue intersection to the East Wylie Avenue/I-70 westbound entrance/exit ramps intersection. In addition, S.R. 18 will be resurfaced from the S.R. 18/ East Wylie Avenue intersection to the S.R. 18/S.R. 0844 (Henderson Avenue) intersection.Also, expected to be included, but not limited to: various roadway improvements to SR 18 (Jefferson Avenue) and E. Wylie Street, new sidewalks, ADA ramp installations, upgrades to drainage, and signing and pavement markings. Physical improvements provided with the new traffic signal will include queue preemption for I-70 ramp approaches, detection on all approaches, LED signal heads, pedestrian accommodations, and spread spectrum radio system. Significant traffic analysis and implementation of signal system timings will be included as well.Construction is anticipated March 2020 thru June 2022. |
