Council on Aging EPDM Roof Repair

The scope of work requires the replacement of approximately 1200SF of 60 Mil black EPDM roofing including: a. The basis of design is a Firestone QS-EPDM-117 system using a 0.060” RubberGuard MAX membrane with mechanically attached tapered insulation and Ice and Water Shield where it interfaces with the adjacent asphalt shingled roof planes. b. Roof flashing for a centrally located air handler approximately 40” wide, 96” long and 18” high. c. New continuous aluminum edge strip in accordance with Section 3 / A-11, Color White. d. Replacement of asphalt shingles to allow for the roof membrane, approximately three courses. e. Tapered Insulation – Firestone or GAF Polyisco Foam. A product equal or better in quality may be submitted for consideration. 2. Replacement work shall be in accordance with the attached Brown and Lindquist drawings A-5, A-7 and A-11 dated February 17, 1999. 3. The scope of work shall include the offsite disposal of the existing material and all other construction related rubbish. 4. The Contractor will be responsible for obtaining a building permit. There will be no cost for the permits. However, the Contractor will be required to pay for the individual electrical inspections. 5. The Contractor shall be responsible for initiating, maintaining and supervising all safety precautions in connection with the work. 6. The Contractor shall provide hoisting services with an OSHA certified spotter as required. 7. The work must be completed by December 31, 2021.
