Description | 1. Prior to commencement of work, the Contractor shall furnish MSDS sheets for all chemicals used in the performance of the scope of work to Leo Ciavatta, or his designee, for approval. 2. Workers shall not disturb the normal operations of the buildings under these specifications. 3. Contractor is responsible for exact measurements of all areas. 4. All paint splatters, contaminated rags and debris shall be removed daily. 5. Contractor shall take necessary precautions to cover surrounding areas so as to not damage floor mats, machinery, doors, furniture, etc. Ensure that all appropriate measures are taken to fully protect all surfaces, persons and adjacent areas before, during and after the work, including, but not limited to: walls, wall coverings, floors, office equipment, furnishings, ceiling, person, vehicles, property that in, near or within sphere that could be affected by the work; weather elements, such as: sun, wind, rain, humidity and outside forces. 6. Post all appropriate signs and barricades where applicable prior to any work being performed. 7. The Contractor is responsible for the safe disposal of all materials used in this project in accordance with EPA guidelines and regulations. 8. Contractor may be required to remove certain hardware and hardware accessories, plates, lighting fixtures and similar items in place that are not to be painted, or provide surface protection prior to surface preparation and painting. 9. It will be the responsibility of the Contractor to adequately prepare all surfaces, to fix imperfections by sanding, patching, caulking and priming where necessary. 10. All prep work shall be inspected by the Roads Authorized Representative – Ken Paige prior to application of finishes. 11. Surfaces must be clean, dry and appropriately prepared. 12. Scrape all loose and flaking paint from the ceilings, walls, doors and trim. 13. Ensure proper ventilation at all times and that no potential known fire hazards exist. 14. Contractor shall follow all paint manufacturers specifications, instructions, recommendations; including application directions for temperature and humidity. 15. Drips, spillage and any overspray shall be removed by the Contractor. 16. The County reserves the right to withhold any or all payments until any defects in performance have been satisfactorily corrected. |
