Description | As of January 19, 2023, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. The City of Covington is seeking qualified contractors for services to tear off and install a new roof to the two buildings at the Bill Cappel Water Park. Questions Due Date: Nov 21st 2022, 12:00 PM EST SCOPE OF WORK General: Bill Cappel Water Park is located at 4305 Decoursey Ave, Covington, Ky and is one of three locations that the City of Covington offers to cool off in the summer. It serves all the residents of Covington and specifically Latonia with splash features and a shallow pool. The pool house and storage building roof are currently in need of repairs having been the original roof from when it was built. Public works and the Recreation staff recommend a metal roof because of its durability and sustainability. Objectives. The City of Covington is seeking qualified contractors for services to tear off and install a new roof to the two buildings at the Bill Cappel Water Park. The objectives of the contracted services are to: 1. Tear off existing roof; 2. Correct all existing faults or damage to wood decking; 3. Install new roof to both buildings; 4. Ensure that the highest quality products are being used, so that the roof (with proper maintenance) will be sustainable for the foreseeable future; and 5. Perform any necessary follow up treatment or finishing as needed. A follow up treatment will only be required if both the contractor and Parks and Recreation designee determine that it is necessary after a post-work walkthrough. Scope of Work. The City of Covington must be made aware of any work to be performed at least 5 days prior to starting work. Insurance, and a signed contract must also be on file prior to starting any work. 1. Tear off existing roof material down to wood decking on two buildings; 2. Prepare and clean wood sheathing in order to achieve a smooth surface; 3. Replace any damaged wood; 4. Install firestone Clad-Gard High Temperature ice and water shield to the entire roof; 5. Install 26 gauge pre-finished steel metal panel systems NS 100 standing seam panels; 6. Install new 26 gauge edge metal to all eaves and rakes; 7. Install metal panel system rake edge metal with 2" face to all rake boards; 8. Install new vent pipe flashings per manufacturer specifications; 9. Install new metal ridge/hip per manufacturer specifications; 10. Install new continuous metal panel systems C-Channel flashings to all roof penetrations per manufacturer specifications; 11. Haul away debris upon completion; and 12. Roof system to use concealed fasteners (no exposed fasteners) |
