US 97 / Robbins Rd - Intersection Improvements

STIP ID 509705H39 The intersection of Buster Rd and Ward Rd on four-lane US 97 east of Wapato have been identified as a locations with a history of collision proposes to reduce the risk of collisions on US 97 by closing the current access points at Buster Rd and Ward Rd, then creating a new access point by extending Robbins Rd north until it intersects US 97. Installing a double lane roundabout at this new access point and upgrade signing, delineation, barrier, and illumination. This will enhance traffic flow through the local network and provide safe access to US 97 and reduce the risk of collisions. As of February 10, 2023, this project is in design status. Preliminary engineering has begun and environmental design is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2022. The contract advertisement is expected in fourth quarter of 2024 and construction is anticipated to be operationally complete in the fourth quarter of 2025.
