The 2-story existing school building is a designated Seattle Landmark. The 22,447 square-foot landmarked building will be renovated and modernized. A new 65,000 square-foot 3-story addition will be constructed. The completed project will provide permanent space for up to 500 students. Pursuant to RCW 39.10.385, a public hearing was held by Skanska USA Building, Inc. (Skanska) and Seattle Public Schools (Owner) regarding the intent to utilize the alternative subcontractor selection process for the Montiake Elementary School Modernization & Addition Project. The Owner and Skanska have determined that this project meets the criteria established in RCW 39.10.385 for use of the EC/ CM process.
