Description

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The project will replace a passage barrier on a private residential road that crosses Coon Creek. The project consists of the following: BR• Provide temporary erosion and sediment control measures and divert the creek around the work area BR• Work with utilities to establish temporary and re-install permanent utilities BR• Excavate existing culvert and road fill at the intersection of 84th Street NE and Coon Creek BR• Set aside excavated materials that are suitable for reuse as road fill; dispose of the existing 5-foot diameter corrugated metal pipe and unsuitable and surplus excavated soil in the former gravel pit located 0.3 miles east of the project site BR• Install concrete footings, riprap adjacent to the footings, and stream bank bed and bank materials BR• Install an owner-supplied bottomless plate arch culvert (26 feet 3 3/4 inch wide by 8 feet 10 3/4 inch high by 40 feet long) with headwalls BR• Finalize shape of stream bed and wash down sediment within it then restore creek flow through the new culvert BR• Place and compact the structural backfill and road base; pave the disturbed and damaged areas of the road BR• Place guardrails
