| Description | The remediation of the land- slide at the low (southern) side of Chartiers Avenue / Middle- town Road, and encroaching into the east-bound lane of that roadway, entails stabili- zation with a design/build soil nail, and possibly micropile and geosynthetically-confined soil (GCS), retaining structure, if required. Work will consist of the design of the soil nails with shotcreting, and micropiles and GSC (or similar approved) structure, if required, to stabi- lize the landslide area, which is approximately 120 ft in length at its top along Chartiers Avenue / Middle- town Road, presented as the base bid. The contractor must reconstruct the portion of Chartiers Avenue / Middle- town Road damaged by the landslide. Chartiers Avenue / Middletown Road, a high- volume roadway, must be kept open during soil nail wall and related construction oper- ations. The Owner anticipates the stabilization will include a combination of soil nailing and potential micropile/GCS structure. | ||||||
