980 Crest Valley Drive Stormwater Improvement Project

As of June 27, 2023, bids for this project are under evaluation. A timeline for award has not been confirmed. The area downstream from an existing 84" diameter roadway culvert at 980 Crest Valley Drive is experiencing streambank erosion. This project aims to protect the culvert, restore and armor the eroding stream banks, and replace other deteriorating components. The project consists of building a cast in place reinforced concrete headwall for the 84" culvert, replace the 18" pipe headwall with precast concrete headwall, and replace the last section of failing reinforced concrete pipe connected to the roadway storm system. Additionally, the damaged section of an 18" concrete storm pipe and the brick manhole within the right of way will be removed and replaced with new concrete pipe and pre-cast manhole with frame and cover. Through vehicular access and utility services during construction of this project shall be maintained. For detailed information, refer to the approved construction plans titled "980 Crest Valley Drive Drainage Improvement Project" prepared by Neelu, Inc. dated 4/6/2021 City of Sandy Springs Permit no. PW21-00005 dated 5/5/2021. The contractor must perform at least 51% of work, and must be Pre-qualified Prime Contractor listed by the Georgia Department of Transportation. The City of Sandy Springs reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities, and to make award in the best interest of the City of Sandy Springs. Five percent (5%) bid bond required for this project. There is no City furnished equipment to be installed by the contractor.
