Description

Fort Scott Pavilion Project File No. 22-031B You are invited to bid on a contract for the Fort Scott Pavilion (Northeast of the intersection of North National Avenue and West Oak Street), in Fort Scott, Kansas. This project shall consist of an open pavilion (portal frame) structure with bid alternates of wood and steel structures with metal roofing, reinforced concrete footings, and all other work and appurtenances necessary to complete the project. The proposed Contract Documents may be examined at: Office of the City Clerk, 123 South Main Street, Fort Scott, KS 66701. Fort scott pavilion project must be bid as "total base bid w/bid alternates "1 geotechnical investigation lump sum 2 foundation design lump sum 3 foundation construction lump sum 4 remove & replace concrete slab lump sum 5a 70' x 150' pavilion - wood frame (complete) lump sum 5b 70' x 150' pavilion - steel frame (complete) lump sum the lump sum bid items will include the following: 1. Design based on IBC 2015- with minimum wind design speed of 120 mph 2. Roof Snow Load - minimum 20 psf 3. Size - 70' X 150' OpenSpan Portal-Frame Pavilion 4. Sidewalls - NONE 5. Roof - 24 Gauge standing seam roof 6. Insulation - NONE 7. Metal Roof Pitch - 2/12 8. Foundation - Contractor responsible for design with City approval 9. Contractor is responsible for any damage to the existing parking lot and other concrete caused by their work at the Project Site and will repair any damage at no cost to the City 10. Concrete for any slab replacement will be 6-inch concrete over 6-inch AB-3 aggregate base on 6-inch compacted subgrade 11. The existing light pole near the east elevation of the proposed structure will be removed and reset (at a location preapproved by the City) as needed for construction of the project 12. Steel Alternate - Roof/Beams/Columns final coating and paint will be black in color and preapproved by the City 13. Wood Alternate - Roof final coating and paint will be black in color and preapproved by the City The City requires that the building be scalable from north to south. If budget constraints require a reduction from the total length of 150 feet, the 25-foot sections on the north end will not be constructed and the last frame on the north end will be designed as an interior frame. This project will provide and construct the structure and any as needed concrete slab repairs.
