Description | Pennsylvania Highlands Community College is planning alterations to their existing facility located at 101 Community College Way, Johnstown, PA 15904. The College is seeking proposals for complete construction work described in the Bidding Documents. The project will be bid and performed under one Prime Contract: General Construction. CLARIFICATION DEADLINE 3/24/2023 4:00 PM Work involves renovation of eight toilet rooms on two floors of the classroom wings as well as conversion of two men's and women's restrooms near the auditorium into referee locker rooms. Work includes demolition, general construction, HVAC construction, plumbing construction, electrical construction, and fire alarm work. At other times, the facility will only be open for viewing by appointment by those Bidders who attended the pre-bid conference. Arrangements are to be made with Reb Brownlee, Director of Facilities Operations, of PHCC at (814) 262-3842 or rbrownlee@pennhighlands.edu. Payment, Performance, and Maintenance Bonds are required of the successful Bidder, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum. Bid Security shall accompany each Bid to guarantee the Bidder will enter into a Contract with the Owner, if given the award. Bid Security shall be in the form of a cash bond, certified check, or satisfactory Bid Bond in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total Bid. No Bid Security shall be waived or returned because the Bidder has failed to or cannot comply with any requirements set forth in the plans, specifications, or any applicable statutes of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or any applicable municipal ordinances. A Bid may not be modified, withdrawn or canceled by the Bidder within sixty (60) calendar days following the time and date designated for the receipt of Bids, without the written consent of the Owner. The surety must be a Guarantee or Surety Company acceptable to the U.S. Government as published in U.S. Treasury Circular No. 570 and must be licensed to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Bidder will be required to submit certifications included with the Bidding Documents. PA Prevailing Wage Rates will apply to all portions of this Project. Current wage rates are included in the Project Manual. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, or to waive any informalities in the Bidding. |
