48-Inch Raw Water Main Completion

Work includes the installation and connection of 48-inch ductile iron pipe raw water main, bends, blow off & air release valve assemblies, and appurtenances as indicated in the drawings. Section 2A Provide and install approximately 1,820 Feet of 48-inch raw water ductile a portion of which shall be installed in an existing 66" steel casing across highway 65. The existing casing shall require inspection by owner prior to installation. Contractor shall in their base bid allow 4 days for inspection of the existing casing to allow owner to clean up any grout that may have migrated in the casing during annular space filling. Install restrained pipe in existing casing and on the ends as shown on the plans for pressure testing. Provide and install fittings, air release valves, and blow off valve as shown in the plans. Pressure testing of the section and connect to exiting mains shall also be included in the base bid. The main bid includes proper dewatering of the exiting mains to allow for final connection (with the required BMP's). Section 3A Provide and install 2788 Feet of 48-inch raw water ductile iron main from station 376+30.34 to 404+18. The plans also call for restraining 300 feet at each of the ends of this section for pressure testing as shown on the plans. Provide and install fittings, air release valve, blow off valve, pressure testing and connection to existing main. The main bid includes proper dewatering of the existing main to allow for connection (with the required BMP's). Valve Cut-in's Provide required fittings, vault and appurtenances to install owner provided mechanical joint gate and butterfly valves in existing portions of the 48" & 36" ductile iron main. The cost to install the valves shall include dewatering, rounding of the existing main and any required BMP's Except as specifically noted otherwise, provide and pay for: 1. Insurance and bonds. 2. Labor, materials, and equipment. 3. Tools, equipment, and machinery required for construction. 4. Utilities required for construction. 5. Temporary facilities 6. Traffic control and dust control measures. 7. Other facilities and services necessary for proper execution and completion of the Work. 8. All permits, government fees, and licenses not specifically listed as obtained by Owner. C. Comply with codes, ordinances, regulations, orders, and other legal requirements of public authorities having bearing on the performance of the Work. LOCATION OF PROJECT 1. The Greens Golf Course - Work is located off the fairways at the Springfield Golf and country club. Work at this locating shall be limited between the months of November to March during golf off peak season. Access to this location is limited and shall require coordination with the management at the golf course. Owner will also need to be notified 2 weeks prior commencing any construction activities. 2. Prime Trucking property south of I-44 - Work is located south of I-44 on the prime trucking property. Work is on easement and will require coordination with property owner to access location. Owner will also need to be notified 2 weeks prior commencing any construction activities. 3. Mayfair North of Kearney - Work is property owned by the state of Missouri at 2455 N Mayfair. The 36" and 48" lines are located on easement and owner will need to be notified 2 weeks prior to commencing any construction activities. 4. Section 2A - Work is located of US 65 north right of way, north of Division Street in Springfield and includes insertion into an existing 66" casing. Work is on easement that borders MoDot right of way. Coordination with MoDot to acquire traffic control plan and permit shall be required and the responsibility of the contractor. 5. Section 3A - Work is located in an easement that runs parallel to US 65 between Division and Chestnut Expressway. Coordination with MoDot to acquire traffic control plan and permit shall be required and the responsibility of the contractor.
