Description

The work includes the following, together with numerous related items of work, all in accordance with the Plans and Specifications: A. Construction of a new process building to house new pressure filters and aerators, including, the repair and reconstruction of existing improvements affected, and the demolition of existing process equipment. B. Demolition of existing process equipment includes the media from the existing aerators, the filter feed pumps, pressure filters, and the backwash waste tank from inside the existing process building. C. A new process building will be constructed to house a portion of the facility improvements. New process equipment includes a backwash wash tank, filter feed pumps, oxygen side stream flash mix, pressure filters, degasifiers, finished water pumps, liquid ammonium sulfate system, LOX system, and vaporizers. D. Alternative Add No. 1 includes the optional construction of an on-site sodium hypochlorite generation system in the existing process building. A Proposal Bond in the amount of not less than 5 percent of the total amount bid, drawn in favor of Willmar Municipal Utilities shall accompany each bid. This project is being funded by the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority (PFA) State Revolving Loan Fund and the Willmar Municipal Utilities, Minnesota. The project is subject to the State of Minnesota and Federal Prevailing Wage Rates, Buy American Iron and Steel Provisions, and other applicable State and Federal requirements as specified. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities and informalities therein and to award the Contract to other than the lowest bidder if, in their discretion, the interest of the Owner would be best served thereby.
