Description | A. The work to be done under this contract consists of executing and completing all work required for the Partial Roof Replacement at the Worcester Senior Center, located at 128 Providence Street in Worcester Massachusetts. B. The Prime Contractor for this project will be the roofing contractor, who will be solely in control of the performance or subcontracting of all work required. Where work to be subcontracted would normally be performed by licensed tradesmen (i.e. electrical disconnection of fans) the Prime contractor must arrange for licensed individuals to perform that work. C. The scope of work, without limiting the generality thereof, includes all labor, materials, equipment and services required to perform the work described fully in the Drawings and Specifications and includes, but is not limited to the following major work: 1. Stripping one wing of the building to the deck and replacing the existing roofing system with a new single-ply roofing system, complete with all insulation, flashings, edge metals and coping. 2. Abatement of asbestos-containing roofing materials and legal disposal of all removed materials. roof replacement including insulation, flashing and other related work at Worcester Senior Center A certified check or bid bond made payable to the "City Treasurer, City of Worcester" in the Amount of 5% The bidder to whom a contract is awarded will be required to furnish and pay for a Performance Bond of a Surety Company authorized to do business in Massachusetts, for not less than 100% of the amount of the contract awarded satisfactory to the awarding authority of the City of Worcester, which besides bonding the contractor to well and faithfully perform all the terms and conditions of the contract, shall provide security for the payment for all labor performed or furnished and all materials used in the fulfillment of said contract. The bidder to whom a contract is awarded will also be required to furnish and pay for a labor and materials or payment bond, of a surety company qualified to do business under the laws of the Commonwealth, for not less than 100% of the amount of the contract awarded, satisfactory to the awarding authority. DCAM Certificate of Eligibility Forms Q7 and Update Form CQ3 must accompany this bid. Only contractors holding a Certificate of Eligibility from DCAM in the category (ies) called for, and in a single project amount higher than the estimated project cost will be able to file a bid.
