Proposed Wastewater Improvements Sanitary Lift Station and Forcemain to Eldon

Cardinal School Community District intends to discontinue the use of the existing lagoon treatment system and transfer the sanitary waste to the City of Eldon, Iowa. More specifically, the proposed improvements include the construction of gravity sewer, sanitary lift station, emergency power, electrical and controls, 16,360 L.F. of sanitary forcemain with air release/vacuum valve pits along Highway 16 and Highway 918, miscellaneous appurtenant items, and demolition of the existing lagoon and treatment facility. When completed, the system will deliver the sanitary waste from the rural school campus to the City of Eldon sanitary collection system located at the intersection of 9th Street and High Street. The project consists of the following items and approximate quantities: sanitary lift station; 15,330 L.F. of 4” PVC forcemain, trenched; 1,030 L.F. of 4” PVC forcemain, trenchless; 14 - air release/vacuum valve pit; emergency power and electrical; lagoon decommissioning; 33,000 C.F. of lagoon dredging; 3.5 acres of cleanup, rural seeding, and fertilizing; 5.7 acres of cleanup, urban seeding, and fertilizing; and miscellaneous appurtenant work usually associated with a wastewater improvement project.
