Renovation / Expansion of Student Athlete Performance Center

The Student Athlete Performance Center project is a renovation and addition to Jamerson Athletic Center at Virginia Tech. The fourth floor of Jamerson will be converted into a new dining facility that will focus on providing student athletes with performance based nutrition as well as supporting the vision to provide a leading edge dining facility for VT athletics. Along with the renovation, the fourth floor will be extended to the south, supported by new columns set outside the existing facade. The existing roof will be replaced with a structure that slopes up to the south to take advantage of the view of the stadium and practice field. Balconies will extend from the addition to provide seasonal outdoor dining. An elevator tower will also be added to provide access for deliveries and servicing. The current fourth floor connection from Cassell to Jamerson will be renovated to provide an attractive link between the concourse and the new dining facility. Offices, restrooms, storage and mechanical space will be provided along the circulation core of Jamerson Hall. The renovated space will have multi-use capabilities for special events and outside catering.
